I am thinking of the time in my life when I turned from blaming others for my decline and took responsibility for finding solutions to poor productivity.

Now I have taken steps to rectify matters; success has come from moving from dreaming to doing. But there have been mistakes, mismatches, and misalignments.

Failure to implement long-term can weaken your confidence in your self-leadership.

The problem comes about because of waning interest due to premature failure. You take up cooking but drop it because you burn the toast.

You start a diet but quickly give it up when hunger strikes, and you reach for the nearest food that happens to be fattening.

Trying but failing is disheartening and morphs into disinclination and dislike.

This discomfort underlies the temptation to refuse any opportunity that carries the risk of failure or rejection. Have you ever strangled your wish with fear? It happens to many.

When Avoidance Moves In

Hence, impotence strikes. Avoidance trumps trial and error.
